GameStop 3.0

It appears that the video game retail giant, GameStop, is closing over 100 stores, in favor of pursuing an initiative known as “GameStop 3.0.” GameStop seems to be focusing more on mobile devices and tablets and shifting some focus away from video games. This is an interesting development, albeit one that isn’t very surprising. With the continued success of digital gaming platforms like Steam, and day one downloads on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, GameStop is floundering to figure out when it fits in this new digital age. Fear not, GameStop fans, they still have over 6000 stores, so they probably aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.
